The Iron Horse is BCI’s newest shoebox style batting cage system. Powerfully filling the gap between our Commercial and Mastodon systems. Combining strength and stability with a small footprint, and easy installation. The Iron Horse stands strong without sacrificing space or flexibility.
The Iron Horses' strength begins with a 4” steel frame at each end of the cage. The frame comes ready to accept our tension hardware and cable system. This system ensures our KVX200 Nets will hang properly without significant sag.
Stability for the Iron Horse is a function of our engineering and design teams' industry-leading innovation. When our cabling system is tightened, the top of the cage will fall inwards, and the bottom will kick out away from the tension. We combat this movement with an innovative back-bracing system.
Unlike a typical brace that extends out away from the cage, our system runs parallel towards the center to create a stable four-point platform, while saving you space. Using our 18” Jumbo Ground Stakes, the Iron Horse is easy to install.
No holes, cement or special tools are required, provided that your soil conditions are suitable. Stakes will not have sufficient holding power in sand, fresh fill, nor overly saturated ground.
Combined with our industry-leading KVX200 Batting Cage Nets, the Iron Horse batting cage system changes the game, providing strength and stability without sacrificing space, ease, or flexibility.

Back Breaking But It Will Be Worth It!

We waited three months for this beast. The assembly is grueling and definitely requires 4 MEN to assemble. We were told this could be disassembled for the winter, which is absolutely not true. It is a solid batting cage, which we are looking forward to having a lot of fun in for years to come!

Simple yet very effective design is impressive as installing it was a breeze. Very happy with in and the staff at Batting Cages Inc. was extremely helpful in guiding me with this purchase. Highly recommend.

You don't necessarily need a Frame if you have a method for attaching cables - the netting can then slide on the cables. Feel free to call us at 800-463-6865.

Hi...The Iron Horse can be installed using concrete and a J Bolt (Plates are bolted down with a washer and nut) or it can be staked down with heavy duty stakes. Either way, it is a very solid batting cage system. If you think wind might be an issue then you might consider sliding the netting to one end of the cage after use or before a storm. The netting slides on cables and is very user friendly. In the event you cannot slide the netting to one end or the other prior to a storm, then the system performance in wind/storm will be dependent upon how well the frame system is staked down. If you choose to utilize concrete and the J bolt to attach and bolt down the frame, then in most cases your Iron Horse will perform very well. Hope this helps!
